About the writer

On 11 September 2015 I was hit by a car while riding my motorbike in Oakland CA. I was just going to the store and ding the speed limit when a car turned left right into the side of me and my 2014 Triumph Tiger. I broke seven vertebrae and my right leg. I was in hospital for two weeks and mostly bed ridden for three months. I felt the worst pain I have ever felt in my life.

Since then it has been a relatively long road of recovery, and perhaps in someways it always will be. I made a conscious decision to make sure I take the maximum value in life and live it to its fullest. I love motorcycles and traveling, so my girlfriend Shalma and I packed up and headed to Southeast Asia. We are currently living in Phnom Penh and the purpose of this blog is to chronicle our travels on my 1999 Honda xr250.

I am obsesses with international politics and economics, and hold a degree in international relations with an emphasis on international political economy. For the most part this is meant to be a light-hearted travel blog, but I am prone to analysis through the lens of my education.
